NELITZA D. GONZALEZ, MS, NCC, LCMHC, LMFT

Biography
I was born and raised in Levittown, Puerto Rico. I moved to Orlando, Florida in my teenage years where I learned English and graduated from High School. I currently live in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with my husband, our children and our dogs.
I serve adults over the age of 21. I am passionate about my work and enjoy walking alongside my clients in their journey to health, wellness and healing. I am also passionate about social justice work and actively advocate for equity in various settings in our community. I firmly believe that the therapeutic process is highly effective, but for counseling to be fully effective, both the client and the therapist have to be involved in the process. As the client, you should know that this process requires you to do some self-exploration, which can be uncomfortable. There might be some risks associated with this process that might include experiencing uncomfortable levels of feelings such as sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, frustration and or/have some difficulties with other people. However, there are many benefits as well. It is my sincere desire that through the process of exploring your feelings, thoughts and behaviors, you will discover your strengths, develop self-awareness, and find healing.

"You are valuable because you exist not because of what you do or what you have done, but simply because you ARE."
